Job Description

The Monitoring / Observability Engineer will be joining the team to tackle initiatives to increase observability in systems. They  will be under the architecture umbrella and play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, health, and stability of applications and infrastructure. Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for utilizing New Relic, to gain deep insights into system behavior, troubleshoot issues, and proactively identify potential problems before they impact users.

Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain New Relic instrumentation across application and infrastructure stack.
Configure and manage dashboards, alerts, and notifications within New Relic to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify anomalies.
APM Monitoring (Java, .NET, PHP, python, APM transaction, logs, etc.), synthetic monitoring, browser monitoring, and Log monitoring,
Set up and manager Alerts & AI (Alert policy, condition, anomaly detection, sources, decisions, Muting rules, workflows, destinations, events, and incidents)
Analyze New Relic data to diagnose performance issues, identify root causes, and collaborate with development teams to resolve them.
Collaborate with other engineers and operations teams to ensure a smooth and efficient monitoring workflow.

Qualifications:

4+ years of proven experience as a Monitoring Engineer or similar role. Experience in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) and Infrastructure Monitoring
Strong understanding of monitoring principles and practices
Expertise in New Relic, including experience with:
      Instrumenting applications and infrastructure
      Creating dashboards and visualization
      Configuring alerts and notifications
      Querying using NQRL
Troubleshooting and problem-solving using New Relic data
Familiarity with other monitoring tools and methodologies is a plus.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) is preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
